H2/H1D CDI Test

All testing is with analog meter with meter set at Rx1K and meter zeroed when leads are touched together. All CDI leads must be disconnected.

RECTIFIER UNIT TEST

1. Meter + connected to CDI Blk/Wht
    Meter -  connected to: Grn = 3.9
                                         Blu = 3.9
                                         Wht = 12
                                         Lt Grn (all) = infinity

2. Meter - connected to CDI Blk/Wht
    Meter +  connected to: Grn = infinity
                                          Blu = infinity
                                          Wht = 90
                                          Lt Grn (all) = 3.9

Any reading substantially different than shown above indicates a defective unit.

UNIT B TEST

SCR Test

1. Meter -  connected to CDI Blk (Gnd)
    Meter + connected to: Lt Grn = infinity

2. Meter -  connected to CDI Wht
    Meter + connected to: Lt Grn = infinity

Trigger Diode Test

1. Meter -  connected to CDI Blk (Gnd)
    Meter + connected to: Wht = infinity

2. Meter + connected to CDI Blk (Gnd)
    Meter -  connected to: Wht = 4.5

Charge Capacitor Test

1. Meter + connected to CDI Blk (Gnd)
    Meter -  connected to: Red = infinity

2. Meter -  connected to CDI Blk (Gnd)
    Meter + connected to: Red = small needle deflection then infinity

Although any test failed will indicate a defective unit, a passed test will not guarantee that the unit is good.
