Take File Ownership

 

In some cases, when trying to manipulate a file Windows will not allow the procedure because you don't have ownership. There is a series of steps you can perform to take ownership that are tediuous to perform. Adding a context menu item to "Take Ownership" can be a timesaver. Below are a couple of methods to do this. Both involve making registry changes.
