KH250 KH400 KH500
Bodywork Tank- Styling similar to '75 models. Gas cap locks with key.
Side cover- Metal on KH500, plastic on KH250,400 -series. All have displacement badge on both sides. "Large" size.
Oil Tank- Internal plastic, behind right side cover.
Decals/Logos Both sides of tank have "Kawasaki" in black letters with white pinstripes, colored stripes on bottom of tank.
Paint Candy Super Red, KH250
Dark Green, Orange, KH400
Deep Burgundy, Copper, KH500
Seat Key latch. seat similar to '75 model.
Electrical System Turn Signals- Flat signal lenses, mounted to headlight mount and rear brackets. Three fuse electrical system adopted, all models.
Ignition CDI (different types) on KH500, KH400, points on KH250
Carburetors Autolube on KH500, Superlube on KH250 & KH400.
Motor Top End  
Motor Bottom End Slotted big end on KH500 rods, all models now having conventional (1 down four up) shift pattern.
Wheels/Tires/Brakes Chromed steel fenders. Different type of front brake caliper/master cylinder. (Same as Z1/KZ900?)
Instruments Grouped together in a pod, white numerals, circular sun visors.
Switches Black housings. Choke is located on left switch assembly, holds open by friction adjustment.
Steering Damper Oil type, connects to frame/triple clamp bracket.
Cables Black nylon coated.
Miscellaneous Chrome plated chain guard.
